The journal is published biannually in April and October, with a continuous publishing model that allows articles to be published as soon as they are ready. Editors will work closely with the editorial team to ensure the publication of high-quality, peer-reviewed content that meets the journal’s standards for rigor, relevance, and academic integrity.

Role and responsibilities

As an Editor of JBHM, you will have the opportunity to shape the journal’s content and editorial policies. The key responsibilities include,

  • You will evaluate submitted manuscripts to assess their scientific quality, originality, relevance, and contribution to the field of business and management. Editors will be responsible for ensuring that articles align with the journal’s scope and meet the necessary academic standards.
  • One of the core responsibilities of an Editor is to manage the peer-review process. You will select and invite appropriate reviewers, ensure that they understand the journal’s review criteria, and monitor the progress of reviews. Your ability to select qualified, impartial reviewers and to handle reviewer comments effectively is critical to the journal’s success.
  • Based on the reviewer feedback, you will make informed editorial decisions regarding whether manuscripts should be accepted, revised, or rejected. Editors must provide clear, constructive feedback to authors and ensure that all necessary revisions are made in line with the journal’s standards.
  • As an Editor, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal. This includes ensuring that manuscripts are free of plagiarism, adhere to ethical research standards, and comply with the journal’s publication guidelines. You will work closely with the editorial team to enforce these standards.
  • It is important that editors give detailed, constructive feedback to authors to help improve their manuscripts. This involves identifying areas for improvement in terms of writing style, structure, argumentation, and content quality. Editors will ensure that the revised manuscript meets the high standards of the journal.
  • Editors will work collaboratively with the editorial board and the publisher to shape the long-term vision of JBHM. This includes identifying emerging research trends, encouraging submissions on novel and timely topics, and proposing special issues or themes for future editions.
  • Editors are expected to promote JBHM within their professional networks and at relevant academic conferences. Your role will include raising the journal’s visibility, encouraging high-quality submissions, and increasing its global reach and impact.

Qualifications and requirements

We are seeking editors with the following qualifications,

  • A Ph.D. in business, management, economics, or a related field.
  • A strong academic record with a significant publication history in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in business and management disciplines.
  • Prior experience in academic editing or peer-reviewing for journals is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in one or more specialized areas of business and management, such as marketing, human resources, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, strategic management, finance, or international business.
